Japan-Studies.com has gone online in October 2005. It is a brand new web-site with great potential. Its wide variety of Japan related articles and the popular language course gives the site a broad appeal to Japan enthousiast of all walks of life.
What we offer:
We offer several packages for advertising, but we are more than willing to accomodate you should you have special requests.
Tracking your ads' performance:
You can receive display and click through statistics by email at any interval you desire, and you will be able to log into our ad server to keep track of the most current statistics.
When your time is nearing the end, or your impressions are almost used up, you will receive an email asking if you would like to extend your advertisements, and purchase more impressions.
If you prefer your adverts to be in plain html, i.e. without the tracking tags, we are happy to oblige. You will still be able to keep track of how often your banners are being shown, but you won't be able to keep track of the click through rate.
File types:
We can display images (GIF/JPEG/PNG) and Flash graphics (SWF). Other types of advertising are not supported at this time.
Advertisement sizes and locations:
You can choose from several packages, or we can create a custom advertisement for you. These are the standard packages we offer:

we can create almost any type of advertisement you desire, be it specific sizes, text ads, or a combination of different creatives you want to rotate.
Demographic targeting:
We can target your adverts to a specific group of visitors by identifying the country this site is being accessed from, the language of the page that person is viewing, and the language of the browser they are using. For instance, if your site is in German, you may want to consider targeting your adverts to pages in German, visitors using German language browsers, and visitors accessing this site from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
Keyword targeting:
We can also target your advertisement to specific content by using keywords. For instance, if you sell kimonos you might want to consider targeting your advertisements to pages containing words like "kimono", "geisha" and "fashion". The advertisement will be displayed on all pages that contain at least one of these keywords.
More targeting options:
More options are available, such as targeting by operating system (useful if your adverts are targeted toward Apple users only), date and time, and continent (rather than country). You can combine all types of targeting options. For instance showing your ads to Mac users only on Sundays and on pages containing the word "samurai" when visitors are using a Japanese browser in Australia on July 23rd and October 5th. The choice is completely up to you.
By using targeting you stand a better chance of increasing your click through rate (CTR). The downside is that your advertisement will receive less exposure. Being too specific can have a negative impact, severely limiting the number of people who will see your ad.
Logo branding:
We also offer an option for logo branding on Japan-Studies.com. A "Sponsored by" or "Powered by" message can be added featuring your logo with a link to your web site to any feature or segment of Japan-Studies.com.

Terms for advertising:
The advertised or linked site cannot feature sexually explicit content (including Hentai-anime), racist or otherwise inflammatory or offensive content, warez or other program hacks, nor illegally distribute copyrighted material such as music or videos, or engage in any other illegal activity.
Though we cannot be held responsible for the content of advertised and linked sites, we will occasionally monitor for inappropriate content. If such content is found the link will be removed without notice. This policy applies to all links going from our website. We do not refund money if your link is removed for violation of these terms.
Banner designs should not be misleading. Therefore they cannot resemble Microsoft Windows or Apple Macintosh designs, nor can they feature standard web-style buttons or "Yes/No/Cancel" options. Animation is allowed, but should be non-intrusive, i.e. no flashing or shaking effects, in order to be considered for placement.
The costs:
We have very competitive rates for advertising. With a CPM (Cost Per thousand iMpressions) of only $1.00 for a 468x60 banner, it pays to advertise with us.
The frequency with which your advert is displayed depends on the targeting options you choose, the total number of advertisers, and the number of pageviews we get, but you are guaranteed to receive the exposure you pay for. Your credit will never expire.
The CPM varies per advertisement size, but with our low prices and targeting options you will be able to get excellent exposure, even if you have a limited budget.
